US Congressman. Served during the War of 1812 as a Major of Pennsylvania Militia. Elected to represent two Pennsylvania Districts in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1821 until his death in office in 1826. First represented the 15th District, serving from 1821 to 1823, then the 18th District, serving from 1823 to 1826. A cenotaph exists for him in Washington, DC’s Congressional Cemetery. His son, John Wilson Farrelly, served as a US Congressman in the 1840s.
