She was born April 2, 1917 in Central, Sevier, Utah to Irma Brown and William Lester Larsen. When she was just a year old, her mother passed away, so the only mother she knew was her stepmother, Violet Nicholes Larsen.
On July 16, 1937, Vaudis married McClellan "Mac" Lorenzo Ewell in Magna, Utah. They had three boys together and were later divorced.
She graduated from South Sevier High School in 1934. She then moved to Salt Lake City and graduated from Henager's Business College. She enjoyed dancing at the old Coconut Grove and Saltair. She retired from the Utah State Department of Social Services in 1979.
Vaudis is survived by her son, Bill (Karen) Ewell, a daughter-in-law, Sharlene Ewell, a brother, David (Nancy) Larsen, two sisters, Bonnie (Robert) Cowley, Betty Larsen, 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, William V. Ewell and Gary M. Ewell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
