Sarah was born in her grand parents Coopers home in
Diamond Lake, Il. Sarah was named for her grand mother Sarah Amila Cooper.
At a young age of around 12 or 13 Sarah left Illinois to join her sister Caroline's family. Not sure if any of the children were born in Illinois or not. Harold may have been born in Illinois so they must have left Il. around 1908-09. By 1910 they were in Butler.
After passing of sister Caroline
Aunt Sarah stayed on in Butler South Dakota..She married Caroline's husband William Hannaly and continued to care for all of the children, her Gordon and her half sister Lena's three children.. Sarah was Aunt to the three boys. She was just 17 yrs. old at this time. Husband William was 28.
Reading census records, Sarah did cleaning jobs to help with expenses. Her husband was found selling eggs.
