SAD CASE. In the West Standfied| Standard Bearer of this week we learn the following concerning the untimely deaths which occurred in Herkimer County last week: "On Friday, a little boy, aged about two years, son of HENRY HELTERLINER, in the town of, Stratford, was drowned at Oregon Tannery. The little fellow had strayed from home into the tannery (where his father was at work, and who happened to be at the time with the other workmen engaged in the loft), and passed through nearly the entire length of the building, when he stumbled over a pile of leather and fell into one of the vats and was drowned. The child was not missed until his father returned home to his meal, when, seeing nothing of him, a search was instituted and his remains discovered as above. The mother of the little boy, who had been quite unwell for several days, was so shocked and grieved by the sudden death of her only child that she was taken much worse and despite the efforts of the attending physician, she died the next day. She was the daughter of Col. John Sixby of Devereaux, beloved for her many virtues, kind and goodness of heart.
