Joe Nezat, a resident of Lincoln Parish for 42 years, moving to Ascension Parish in November of 2001, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2004 at home in Prairieville, LA at the age of 83.

Visitation at Owens Memorial Chapel on Tuesday at 8:00 am until religious service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Tulip Cemetery in Athens, LA.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Beth Watts Nezat, 2 sons and daughters-in-laws, and one daughter and son-in-law; Terry and Debby Nezat, Houma, Louisiana, David and Amy Nezat, Richardson, Texas and Susie and Bubba Richard, Prarieville, LA; 3 grandsons, Jarrod "JJ" Nezat, Quinn "Opie" Richard and James Nezat. Also survived by 3 brothers, Pruitt, Johnny, and Eugene Nezat and 3 sisters Joyce Gonzales, Betty Pitre and Laura Mae Mouton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Barnett Springs Baptist Church, Ruston, LA or Odyssey Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA.
