Funeral services for Max "Peanut" Clark, 71, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011 in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home conducted by Rev. David Brantley. Burial will be in the McAlister Cemetery, Overbrook, OK. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Son of the late Bill and Maxine Clark, Peanut was born February 25, 1940 at Rubottom, Oklahoma. He left this earthly home to be with our Heavenly Father in Glory Wednesday morning, August 3, 2011.

Peanut served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Arizona. He married the love of his life and bride of 48 years, Jane, on February 9, 1963. The newlyweds lived in Oklahoma City for 1 and ½ years before moving to Marietta. They later moved to Healdton where Peanut worked for Halliburton for 9 years. In 1973 they moved to Ardmore, where he went to work for Bell Refinery, until retiring in 1997.

In Ardmore, he pastured two churches, McAlister and Ardmore Indian Baptist. After retirement, they moved to Enos, Oklahoma where he pastured the Baptist Church there for 3 years.

He enjoyed a lifetime love for fishing and fishing with family and friends. Taking his grandchildren to the lake on his "gator" was one of his greatest joys. He was a friend to many and loved helping people. His last message to friends and family was to love the Lord and He will see you through...

He was preceded in death by his mother Maxine Clark, his father, Bill Clark, a brother, William Clark, an infant son and an infant daughter.

Survivors include his wife, Jane, of the home; a son, Donnie Clark and wife, Carla, Ardmore; two daughters, Donna Harrison and husband, Randy, Oklahoma City and Lou Ann Brown and husband, Josh, of Ardmore; ten grandchildren, Joan, Jillian and Jamie Clark, all of Ardmore; Dustin Burrows, Portales, NM, D'Arcy Neff and husband, Brandon, Spencer, Oklahoma, Derek Tynes, Ringling, Oklahoma, R.J. and A.J. Harrison, Oklahoma City, Alexis and Trever Brown, Ardmore; two great grandchildren, Gabriella and Cory Neff, Spencer, OK, several nieces and nephews.

Bearers include Jimmy Meadows, Charles Campbell, Johnny Cox, Jerry Deweese, Cody Miller and Bert Tynes. Honorary bearers will be J. D. Bridgeman, J. C. Harris, Jimmy Davis, Tony McCall, Leon Murray and Greg Milford.
