Mary Elizabeth Combatto, a lifelong St. Charles Mesa resident, passed away Aug. 2, 2011. She was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Coal Creek, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melio Combatto; and brother, Louis Spaccamonti. Mary is survived by her children, Irene Clementi, Mary Lee (Richard) Bastin; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim, Tony, Joe (Judy), Johnny (Madaline) Spaccamonti, Virg Quint, Betty Vaughn; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will miss her. Mary and her husband, Melio, worked the family farm for over 50 years. She retired from District 70 food service in 1983. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church and a member of Christian Mothers. The family wishes to thank her caregivers and hospice. Donations may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice through the funeral home. Visitation, 6 to 8 p.m. today with rosary at 7 p.m., George McCarthy Historic Chapel. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, St. Joseph Church, with interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
