William J. Carr, 83, died on Wednesday, November 4, 1998, in Escondido. He was born on February 8, 1915, in Jamestown, North Dakota and has lived in Escondido for 20 years. Retired, he was a salesman and manager for Charles Bruning Co. and was an active member and past president of the Joslyn Senior Citizens Center in Escondido.

Mr. Carr is survived by his wife, Ann Carr of Escondido; son Tom (Nancy) Carr of Plano, Texas; daughter Sharon Atkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother Edwin Carr of Long Beach, California; sister Mary (Doug) McDonald of Escondido; sister Martha (Sig) Oyen of Montevideo, Minnesota; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. today, November 7, at McLeod Mortuary Chapel, 1919 East Valley Parkway, with the Rev. Richard Huls officiating. Mr. Carr will be cremated and scattered at sea.
