Sue Hylton Mitchell, 82, of Stuart, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at R.J. Reynolds Patrick Memorial Hospital in Stuart.
She was born in Surry County, N.C., on April 16, 1923, to Frank Cabell Hylton and Clyde Marshall Hylton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Randolph Mitchell; and two brothers, Joel and Grey Hylton.
She graduated from Stuart High School and attended Mary Washington College. She worked for the United Elastic Corp for 40 years, and she had been the curator for the Patrick County Historical Museum.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Lindsey of Stuart; one son, James Randolph Mitchell of Stuart; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Young of Walnut Cove, N.C.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart. Burial will be in Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moody Funeral Home.
