Survivors include his wife, Velva Wilmerth Bennett; four sons, Lavem, Louis and Paul Bennett, all of Russell Springs, and Winston Bennett, Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. Orean Whittle, Russell Springs; two brothers, Oval and Avel Bennett, both of Russell Springs; two sisters, Elma Holt and Iva Rexroat, both of Russell Springs; 11 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren and three step- grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, October 28,1990;2 p.m. at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Billy Dunbar and Bro. John Blakey officiating. Special music was presented by Osborn Roy, Janice Popplewell and Wilma Eller.
Pallbearers were Larold Rexroat, Earl Patterson, Ivan Bennett, Kenny Whittle, Tracy Bennett, Jason Ford and Mike Bennett.
Burial was in the Coffey’s Chapel Church Cemetery.
