Betty Jo was the oldest child of Robert & Lois (Thompson) Morris. She grew up in Clarksburg during the Depression, graduating in 1945 from Washington Irving HS, same as her parents. Her family then moved to Morgantown where she attended West Virginia University, joined Alpha Xi Delta sorority, and met her future husband. She graduated from WVU with a B.A. degree in Psychology in 1949 and married William Caldwell in 1950. She enjoyed gardening and social events, especially holidays, with family, friends, sororities & neighbors.
Betty was a loving wife to William her husband of 61 years, a devoted mother of five children, and a doting grandmother of three. She is also survived by her sister Martha, brother Robert, and eight nieces and nephews.
