Louella Marie Reeves Sauer, 92, of Eldorado, Texas, finished her earthly journey in Schleicher County Nursing Home on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011. She was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Hunt County, Greenville, Texas, to Owen Houston Reeves and Evelyn Lamm Reeves.
Louella graduated from Greenville High School in 1939. She met Edgar Fred Sauer at 4-H Camp in College Station, Texas, in 1936. World War II would delay their plans, but they married March 11, 1947, in Greenville, Texas. They were married for over 43 years living their life together and raising their family on their farm in Schleicher County until separated by his death on Sept. 18, 1990.
Louella was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Joe Dudley Reeves, George Kenneth Reeves and Owen Dwight Reeves.
She is survived by her two sons, Hyman D. Sauer and wife Gina and Norris Eric Sauer of Eldorado. She was known as Mawmaw to her grandchildren, Justina Saunders of Ozona, Texas, Andrew Frederick Sauer and wife Carla of Colorado City, Texas, Courtney Rene Wilkerson and husband Mitch of San Angelo, Texas, and Clayton Alan Sauer of Eldorado; as well as special great-grandchildren, Eli and Kennadi Sauer of Colorado City. Louella is also survived by her only sister, Mary Evelyn Brock, and husband Kenneth of Denison, Texas.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Schleicher County Nursing Home and VistaCare for the kind and loving care given to Louella during her last months with us. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at the Mertzon Highway Church of Christ in Eldorado, Texas, under the direction of Kerbow Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Eldorado Cemetery beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, please make any memorials to your favorite charity
