Zola A. King, 89, of Boise, a lifelong resident of Idaho, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2005, 12:10 a.m. at her home; her loving family was at her side. Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall, 3299 S. Roosevelt St. in Boise, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23 with Jerry Musick, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Middleton Cemetery at a later date.
Zola was born Nov. 1, 1915 in Dubois, Idaho to Harry and Susan Ames, living in the state of Idaho her entire life.
She married John King on Oct. 15, 1932 in Cascade Valley, Idaho. They resided in several Idaho cities throughout their lives, settling in the Boise, Caldwell and Middleton area. Her first and only love was her husband and five daughters. She kept busy being a housewife and running a ceramic shop for many years. After her husband's death in 1979 she and her twin sister, Lola Crawford moved in together in Boise.
Zola is survived by three daughters, Grace Maddux of Philomath, Ore., Lola McCreary of Spokane, Wash. and Nedra Karp of New Plymouth, Idaho; one sister, Lola Crawford of Boise; 17 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren, and 38 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Harry and Susan Ames; husband. John King; two twin daughters. Thelma and Dhelma; one sister, Thelma Bunt; two brothers, Floyd and Merle Ames; and one great-grandson, Robert Benson of Spokane, who was killed Iraq.
