Obituary, The Columbia Daily Tribune, November 26, 2008:

Larry Gene Hicks, 58, of Columbia died Saturday. Nov. 22, 2008, in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery.

Larry Hicks was born Dec. 13, 1949, in Columbia, the son of Roy and Cecelia Coats Hicks. He was employed at Stephens College. He was a member of Russell Chapel C.M.E. Church.

Survivors include his significant other, Cordellia Davis of the home; his mother, Cecelia Hicks of Columbia; three sons, Larry Galbreath of Des Moines, Iowa, Diamon Davis of Bowling Green and Michael Davis of Columbia; three daughters, Benita Harris and husband Terry of Killeen, Texas, Linda Rodriquez and her husband, Isaac, of Saginaw, Texas, and Regena Davis of Columbia; one sister, Linda Brown of Columbia; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of H.T. May and Son Funeral Home, 443-2273.
