Paulina Lorraine Floyd Secrest, 79, of Paris died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2000, in Oakbrook Nursing Center, Whitehouse, TX.
Paulina was born 28 Dec 1920, in the Shady Grove community of Lamar County to Earl Kelley Floyd and Lillian Opal Whitten. She graduated from Pattonville High School, Paris Junior College, and received her BA and MS degrees from East Texas State University. Mrs. Secrest taught at Central schools, retiring from teaching at Paris ISD's T.G. Givens campus.
She married Mitchell Chester Secrest in Pattonville on May 18, 1941. He died Nov. 7, 1981. She was a member of Paris Business & Professional Women's Club, the Retired Teachers Association, the Paris Noon Study Club, the United Methodist Women, the Sunshine Club and Couples Sunday School Class of Calvary United Methodist Church.
