John J. Williams 88 of Columbia passed away Tuesday January 19, 2010.

Mass will be 10a.m. Saturday January 23, 2010 at Our Lady of Loudes Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6-8p.m. Friday January 22, at the church with Rosary at 7;30 p.m. Burial will be Memorial Park Cemetery.

John was born September 2, 1921 in Kirksville Mo. to Glen and Annabel Higgins Williams. He married Barbara Lipper on January 8, 1942 she survives.

John served with U,S, Army dring World War II, during the European Theatre from 1942-1945 including B-Day and he Battle of the Bulge, he moved to Columbia in 1959 coming from Vandalia.

John was supertendent of building trades at the University of Missouri for 18 years. After retirement he became a home builder.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, a son Johm Williams and wife Sally, a daughter Pat Teague and husband Jerry , a brother, Frank Williams, six grandchildren, John B Williams and wife Jeniel Nett, Matt W. Teague ans wife Courtny, Michael D. Williams , Jessica Williams, Katy P. Teague and wife Leslie and two greatgrandchildren, Nathan M. Teague and Aidan Essick.

Memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN. 38105.
