Mable Bess Ockerman, daughter of Robert and Alcinda Douglass was born Sep 17, 1896 and passed away at the Wayne County hospital Aug 8, 1965 at 3 A.M. at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 21 days. Most of her life was spent in Wayne county as a homemaker.

On February 5, 1917 she was married to Claude W. Ockerman and to this union three children were born, Mrs. Reed (Theda) Duncan of Clio, Wilbur Eugene of Maysville, Okla. and Robert Harold of Clear Lake.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, a daughter; two sons, a son-in-law, Reed, two daughters in-law, Gene and Louise; four grandchildren, Necoe, Michael, Richard and Cheryl Ockerman; a brother Murray Douglass of Wayne, Mich.; one niece and two nephews.

Her father, mother, a sister, Bertha, and a brother Lloyd preceded her in death.

Bess was a loving wife and mother and wanted always to be busy or helping someone. She loved her home and was active in the Methodist church and Legion Auxiliary as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Wolf Funeral home in Corydon with the Rev Dean Ridenour officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Thompson, Earl Tilton, Gene Warren, Gerald Hayhurst, Raymond Snook and Miles Van Fleet.

Internment was in Corydon cemetery.
