Calvin Purtell, age 73, of Galveston, formerly of Houston, passed away January 7, 2002. He was a retired commercial refrigeration contractor, a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII, a member of Houston Lodge #1189 A.F.&A.M., past patron of O.E.S. #258, and a Shriner.
Survivors include his former wife and friend, Jeannine Harless of Alice; one daughter, Patricia Riley of Galveston; one son, Randall C. Purtell of Caracas, Venezuela; one step-daughter, Michelle Harless; one stepson, Darren Harless, both of Alice; grandchildren, John Hamilton, John Calvin, Logan John, Mia Rose, Madison, Megan; two sisters, Alice Jean and Dora.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Vickery officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
