son of Patrick Eugene and Frances Olin, formerly Gibbons, of 34 Casimir Road, Harold's Cross, Dublin.
His father was a Contractor.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records that he is buried in Kano Township Christian Cemetery, at Tudan Wada, Bompai, Kano, Northern Nigeria.

Kano was an important military area during World War 2, and the airfield was one of a chain used by the British and Allied Air Forces on the South Atlantic air route from America to Cairo, via South America. Most of the R.A.F. casualties were from No. 21 Operational Training Unit.
