Mr. Willie Smittick was born in Tennessee, October 17,1872, to Mr. Willie and Mrs. Chaney Smittick.
He was one of five children, one brother and three sisters, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Smittick came to Oklahoma about 1898, and moved to Sapulpa, in 1904, where he met and married Bessie Suggs.
He labored as a farmer in this area before statehood.

He was the father of seventeen children, six of these children preceded him in death. Survivors include seven sons, Robert, San Diego, California, Rev. Fred Smittick, Sapulpa, Carl, St. Louis; Rev. Lafayette Smittick , Washington, D.C.; John, Sapulpa; Joery,(US Army), Michigan; and Rolland, Seattle, Wash.

Three daughters, Mmes. Thressa Bradly, of the home; Marie Green, Jenks and Lillie Mae Davison, Sapulpa. Forty five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four nephews, eight neices and other relatives and friends.

He was a good husband and father, well liked in community, unselfish and honest will all Sleep on dear one and take your much deserved rest. We shall miss you so, God doeth all things well.
