Melvin Maury McClure, 74, of Manteo, NC died Monday, November 7, 2005 at the Outer Banks Hospital. Mr. McClure, born in Memphis, TN, was a retired Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy with 30 years of service. He was the commanding officer of Combat Camera Group, Atlantic in Norfolk, VA in the early 1970s. He went on to a second career with Projection, Inc. in Alexandria, VA.
Mr. McClure was the son of the late Paul Jones McClure and the late Mabel Powers McClure.
He is survived by his wife, June Rittenhouse McClure of the residence; a daughter, Pamela McClure of Manteo, NC; a granddaughter, Katia Taylor McClure of Manteo, NC; two brothers, Col. Paul McClure and Dr. James G. Mc Clure, both of Memphis, TN.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
