Velma Aleene Pettit Floyd, 70, wife of the late Dempsey Floyd, 4519 Loop 286 SE, died Wednesday, September 16, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Alvis Jones and Rev. Tom Brown.
She was born in Pattonville, a daughter of Luther Edgar Pettit and Ethel Crockett. She attended Pattonville schools and worked for Hollywood Vassarette for many years. She married Dempsey William Floyd April 8, 1939. He died July 13, 1983. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Pattonville.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dixie Loyd Pettit in 1968 and Marcellus Pettit.
Surviving are two sons, Bobby John Floyd and Gary Dean Floyd, both of Paris; 5 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Vivian (James) Day of Pattonville; a brother, J.R. Pettit of Dallas.
