Ernestine Goodwin, 82, of Moody, passed away at her residence, Friday, February 21, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, at her longtime church, the First Assembly of God Church Moody, S. Hwy. 317 Moody, Texas with Pastor Bill Pedigo officiating. Burial to follow at Moody Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, at the First Assembly of God Church Moody.
Ernestine Goodwin was born April 24, 1931 in Coryell County, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Rita Shelton Bird; husband, Jim Goodwin; infant sons, Ernest Ray and James Lee Goodwin; infant daughters, Jimmie and Mary Goodwin; brothers, L.A., Lincoln and Newt and his wife, Melba Bird; nephew, Bobby Bird; and best friend, Edelia Guerra.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rita Clanton and husband, Don; granddaughters, Sherri Clanton and Regina Robertson and husband, Michael; great-granddaughter, Micah Robertson; great-grandson, Brayden Robertson; special caregiver, Sue Goodwin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be students from her Sunday school class, Juniors (9-12), that she had taught for over 39 years.
