Petrene Abraham was born on 14 September 1895 at Spink, Union, Dakota Territory. Petrene Abraham married John Konrade Sommervold on 15 November 1916 at Roseni Luthern Church, Spink, Union, South Dakota.Petrene Abraham died on 12 October 1977 at Sioux Falls, Minnehaha, South Dakota, at age 82.She was buried on 15 October 1977 at Lands Luteran Cemetery, Hudson, Union, South Dakota.Petra was baptized and confirmed at Brule Creek Lutheran Church. She was a member of Lands Lutheran Church and was very active in church activities. After her marriage to John Sommervold, the couple homesteaded in Red Elm, SD until 1923 when they moved to a farm in Union County south of Alcester. In 1936 they moved to a farm north of Alcester where they resided until John's death in 1958. In September 1959, Petra moved to Beresford where she has lived until she became ill shortly before her death. Petrene Abraham was also known as Abrahamson. Petrene Abraham also went by the name of Petra.
