Services for Ida Pearl McMills Nick, age 86 and a resident of Tyler since 1947, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel with Bishop C.W. Goforth, Bro. Jamie Eitson and Bishop Rudy Bond officiating.

Entombment will be in the Cathedral in the Pines Mausoleum.

Mrs. Nick passed from this life to her eternal heavenly home on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Hospice of East Texas HomePlace in Tyler. Mrs. Nick had struggled with the effects of a stroke since February 2008. She was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful servant of the Lord.

Mrs. Nick was born on April 13, 1925, in Shreveport, La., to the late Florence Sharp. She retired in 1989, from the East Texas Medical Center EMS office and had also served as an East Texas Medical Center Pink Lady volunteer. She was a member of New Life Worship Center.

She was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated husband of 68 years, Clinton Nick; a brother, Johnny Gatlin; three grandchildren, Anjannette Nick Herring ,Robby Glenn Nick and Bobby Glenn Nick.

She is survived by her five children, Janice Powell and husband Tommy, Bobby Nick and wife Suzan, Glenn Nick, Gaylia Pride and husband Bryan and Terry Nick and wife Cindy, 11 grandchildren, Tom Powell Jr. and wife Dawn, Greg Powell and wife Sherry, Tammy Pirtle and husband Chris, Sandy Crouch and husband Kevin, Bobby Nick Jr. and wife Vickie, Justin Nick and wife Angie, Monica Goguen and husband Pat, Michelle Dominicci and husband Edmar, Mysti Pride and husband Jon Wagoner, Cameron Nick and wife Cassie, and Chase Nick; and 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Tom Powell Jr., Greg Powell, Bobby Nick Jr., Justin Nick, Cameron Nick and Chase Nick.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at the funeral home.
