He was born in Wiconisco, a son of the late Cornelius and Emma Ritzman Hawk. He was a retired painter, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco and Wiconisco Fire Company.
Surviving are his widow, the former Emma Houtz; daughters, Mrs. Margaret Popp, Hummelstown; Mrs. Shirley Messner, Harrisburg; sons, Roy of Williamstown and Joseph, Tower City; sisters, Mrs. Maude Gaskill, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Florence Chubb, Millersburg; Mrs. Elva Schell, Williamstown; seven grandchildren.
Services tomorrow morning at Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, with the Rev. Arthur Sadofsky officiating. Interment in Wiconisco Cemetery. Schaffstall and Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, is in charge.
