Arthur R. Allison, 73, a lifelong rural Le Mars resident, died Thursday at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Lincoln township with Rev. Richard Remmes officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke funeral home. Parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Allison was born Oct. 1, 1898, in Plymouth county, the son of John and Eleanor Smithurst Allison. He married Marguerite Britt Sept. 8, 1931, at St. Joseph's church, Lincoln township.
Mr. Allison was employed by Plymouth county for 17 years as a road maintainer operator. The couple has farmed in Stanton township since 1942.
Mr. Allison was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon and a son Dennis in infancy, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Remer and Mrs. Sarah Hodgson and two brothers, John and Oscar Allison.
Survivors are his wife Marguerite; six daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Arline) Erdmann and Mrs. Dan (Mary) Buckley, both of Le Mars, Mrs. Fred (Patricia) Wiebersch of Iowa City, Mrs. Ronald (Avila) McCoy of Omaha, Mrs. Mark (Rosalie) Tentinger of Macomb, Ill., and Glenda at home; a sister, Mrs. George R. Bowers of Le Mars and 20 grandchildren.
