FULTON~~~~Anne Barnes, 60, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at her daughter's home in Fulton. She was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Hamilton, Ala., to Bill and Willie Barnwell Frederick. She was involved with Girl Scouts and the IAHS band while her children were in school. She worked at Blue Bell, Team and Itawamba Mfg. Co. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She coached her granddaughters softball and basketball teams and spent many summers at Fulton City Park. She loved to fish and spent many hours with her brothers on the water. She loved doing crafts and embroidering with her sister, Elaine. She was a fan of University of Alabama football. Diagnosed with cancer in 2009, she met her disease head-on and fought until the end.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery in Hackleburg, Ala.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Leister (Daniel McMurry) of Fulton; one son, James Kenneth Barnes (Tassie) of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Zoey Barnes (Komang) of Montgomery, Ala., Max Leister and Brandi Leigh Anne Leister both of Fulton; one sister, Elaine Cook of Hamilton, Ala.; two brothers, Roger Frederick (Jackye) of McCalla, Ala., and Hayward Frederick of Olympia, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Barnes, in 2004; her parents; two brothers, Billy and Max Frederick; and one sister. Emily Frederick.
Pallbearers will be Daniel McMurry, Maxwell Leister, Kenneth Lynch, Roger Frederick and Brett Frederick.
