Alexander S, Payne, Jr. graduated from Chamberlain Hunt Academy. He graduated from the University of Mississippi, in 1940. He was a member of the M Club and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. During WW II he was a Captain in the Army infantry and fought at Guadalcanal. He is Vice President of Gaddis-McLaurin, Inc. From 1959-73 he served as Mayor of Bolton.
