Chairman, Alpena Power Company. Son of George N Fletcher, lumber baron and co-founder of Alpena. In the 1897-8 city directory, he was listed as owner of the Alpena Excelsior Company, secretary of the Alpena Electric Light Company and partner in the Alpena Sulphite Fibre Company. In the 1899-1900 city directory, he was listed as treasurer of the Fletcher Paper Company. Elected regent, University of Michigan, 1894-1909. Chairman, Alpena Power Company, 1905-1922. The Fletcher Hall dormitory on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus was named after him.
