Karen Sue Willingham (Rule), 60, of Wauseon, Ohio Passed away Friday, July 8, 2005, at her home. She was born on October 16, 1944, in Adrian, Michigan, the daughter of Charles L. and Burlinda (White) Rule. On May 21, 1987, she was married to Jack Willingham. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1996.
Karen worked as a sales clerk at Tony's Pet Shop in Wauseon, where she took care of all sorts of animals and various types of birds. She was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. and enjoyed spending her past time gardening and tending to her flowers. Often Karen would help friends and neighbors with various task and take them to appointments. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she thoroughly enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them.
She is survived by her son, Kurt (Jennifer) VanBuren of Sylvania, Ohio; her daughter, Dawn (Barry) Bashaw of Toledo, Ohio; one brother, Cort (Jane) Rule of Palmyra, Michigan; three grandchildren, Robert, Christopher and Matthew; a niece and nephew, Jason Rule of Palmyra and Hillary (Jon) Willett of Sand Creek, Michigan, and her favorite companion, her bird CoCo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. a close friend, David Newman and many A.A. friends who have helped her through the years.
Funeral services for Karen will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield with Fr. Gary Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Palmyra Cemetery in Palmyra Twp. Friends may call or visit the funeral home on Monday from 2-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Palmyra Fire Dept. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
