Mr. Parsons was born in Black Fork, Arkansas and has been a resident of Buncombe County for the past 12 years. He was in three branches of service. Mr. Parson's was a member of the Land of the Sky Shriner's Club; lifetime member of the VFW Post 891 and a sewing machine repairman for over 60 years. He was an avid bingo player.
Mr. Parsons is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Allie Allen Parsons; daughter, Judy Bennett of Weaverville; son, Ed Gibson and wife, Vivian of Marion and one brother, Jim Walls of Texas.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, August 1, 2011 in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Lomax officiating.
