Funeral services for Leonard Lamb, 78, of Pollok will be held Saturday, October
18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend
Joe Beran officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.

Mr. Lamb was born August 1, 1930 in Anderson County, Texas to the late Eula
(Lasiter) and Frank Lamb, and died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in a local
hospital. Mr. Lamb resided in Angelina County most of his life, and he retired
from Central ISD following 30 years of service. He began his career at Central
as a teacher and coach. Mr. Lamb was the assistant coach of the 1956 boys state
championship basketball team, and the head coach of the 1959 girls state
championship basketball team. He was the first Junior High principal at Central
ISD, and remained in that position until his retirement. Mr. Lamb was a founding
member of the Luf-To-Go Sams RV Club, and was a member of Falvey Memorial United
Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gary Oliver and Lee
and Billy Gilstrap, all of Lufkin; daughter, Margaret Lamb Agpalza of Pollok;
son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Hugh and Lynn Lamb of Pollok; grandchildren,
Leigh Ann and Erik Oliver, Clay and Shelby Gilstrap, Patsy and Larie Agpalza,
Laurel and Lance Lamb; great-grandsons, David Thompson Oliver and Logan Hugh
Lamb; sisters, Addie Phoenix of Lufkin, Vivian Campbell of Victoria and Lulu
Britton of Palestine; special friend, Marie Richardson of Pollok; and a number
of other relatives. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lamb was preceded in death
by his wife of 56 years, Fleta Lamb; son, Paul Lamb; brothers, Rayburn Lamb,
Lester Lamb, Kenneth Lamb and Elvis Lamb; and sister, Lanita Greve.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Richardson, Dean Richardson, Mark Ross, Byron
Stokes, Ronnie Lamb, Darwin Lamb and Clay Gilstrap. Honorary pallbearers will be
the Central High School Girls Basketball Alumni. Memorial contributions may be
made to Falvey Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 40, Wells, Texas
75976.
