William C. Burgermyer, 70, of Champion was pronounced dead on arrival Monday afternoon in the emergency room of St. Joseph Riverside Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1924, in Warren, a son of William B. and Esther Toot Burgermyer, and was a lifetime resident.
Mr. Burgermyer retired in 1986 as an electronics repairman from LTV Steel Corp., after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Warren Area Stamp Club and Westside Mapleleafs and had enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and stamp collecting.
Mr. Burgermyer served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Marshall Burgermyer, whom he married April 6, 1957; a son William D., of Spokane, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Robin Ricci and Donna (Thomas) Jones, both of Warren and Sgt. Vicky Teigue, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Martha Martin of Laurel, Md., and Mrs. Patty (Michael) Sferra of Warren; three sisters, Elsie Wishart of Warren, Betty Gowdy of Fowler and Mary Swanson of Liberty; and 14 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McCardell-White Funeral Home, where the funeral will also take place 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Champion Township Cemetery.
