Magdalene M. Burnett, 95, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Greenfield Assisted Living in Hagerstown, Md.

The youngest of 12 children, she was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Sleepy Creek, W.Va., the daughter of the late Albert and Amanda (Kemp) Fox, and was the widow of Harold A. Burnett, who passed away Nov. 19, 2000.

She was formerly employed by Londontown Manufacturing in Hancock, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Flowers and husband, James Jr., of Hancock; one son, Charles Burnett and wife, Dott, of Hancock; four grandchildren, David Flowers of Hancock, Dennis Flowers of Towson, Md., Charles Burnett of Hagerstown and Robin Burnett of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Burnett, on Nov. 4, 1950.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 22, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev Brad Nigh will officiate. Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Greenfield Assisted Living for their attentive care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093.
