When the vault in the old Arsenal street cemetery was opened a few days ago there were found four bodies, said to be those of William Smith, James E. Smith, Barter Banney and that of a little girl.
On the death record kept by the late S.W. Ballard, who formerly conducted an undertaking establishment in this city, and which records are now in the possession of Undertaker W.B. Box, was found the record of the death of William Smith on Nov. 24, 1858, at the age of 82 years and that of James E. Smith May 23, 1865, aged 49 years. Barter Banney is said to have died in 1854, but no record of it could be found on the books. A new door has been replaced on the vault and the bodies were left there
