Mrs. J. G. Beckwith died on Sunday , Sept. 22, at the home of her son J. C. Beckwith east of the city. The funeral was held Tuesday, interment being in the Barron cemetery.

Mrs. Beckwith was born in Scoharry, N.Y., on the 28th of February, 1819; was married Aug. 28th 1840; moved to Wisconsin in 1872, has been a resident of Barron for 28 years, she was a mother of eight children of whom five still survive her. J. C. and J. R. are residents of Barron, Garrison, G. R. and C. W. are residents of Minneapolis and were present to pay the last sad rites to her memory and call to memory many of the scenes of the past. She joined the M.E. church over 60 years ago and was a devoted Christian as the time of her death. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Tuesday the 24th, conducted by Rev. M. L. Campbell.
