Wallace "Wally" Brown

Wallace "Wally" Robert Brown, 68, of Westfield; died Tuesday, July 7, 1992, at his home of a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30-p.m. Friday, July 10, the Westfield Congregational Church Westfield. Rev. Marty Healty will officiate. "In The Garden" and "On The Wings Of A Dove", will. be sung by Shirley Banks, vocalist, accompanied by Sheryl Banks, pianist. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Akron. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Schroeder Funeral Home. Family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. .

Pallbearers will be David Allen, Paul Bringman, Chuck Bish, Wayne Brown, Terry Morehead and Brent Norseen.

Mr. Brown was born January 5, 1924 at Adaville, Iowa to parents Reuel and Benice (Dreeszen) Brown. His mother died in 1927. His father later married Lyda Dorphoyer. Mr. Brown received his education in area schools including
Akron, high school. He married Marietta Anderson Feb. 5, 1944 in Akron. The couple farmed in the Merrill and Akron areas. He later was custodian at the Westfield school from 1971 to 1982. He was a member of the Westfield Congregational church and especially enjoyed his time spent fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Marietta of Westfield; his children, Jerrine and her husband, Sam Johnson of Madison, Neb., Wanda Kayl of Grand Island, Neb. Wayne Brown and his wife, Jean of Akron, Pat and her husband, Randy Benton of Akron, and Bill Brown of Okoboji; granddaughters, Jamie and her husband, Brent Norseen of Fairfield, Neb.; Janelle .and her husband, Chuck Bish of Grand Island, Neb.; grandsons, Rick Johnson and his wife, Trish of Vallejo, Calif.; and Walker Brown of Akron; a great-grandson, Brenden Norseen; and one sister, Sandra and her husband Bill Mackey of Chatsworth, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, two brothers, Dwight, and Stuart, and son-in-law, Marty Kayl.
