Hazel Brantley's spirit soared to be with her Savior after 73 years on earth. She was born August 25, 1937 and died peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Her services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 2 at Lilley's Chapel Church of Christ in the Jenkins Community with Norman Miller and Scott Darby officiating. Interment will be at Clark Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. in Hughes Springs.
Hazel will lie in state at the funeral home Monday afternoon and evening and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Hazel married and shared her life with Eirby Joe Brantley beginning on November 11, 1955 until his death in 1994.
They are survived by three children together Ronald and wife, Cindy Brantley of Daingerfield; Bobbie Jean and husband, Michael Turnbeaugh of Florida; and Michael and wife, Diane Brantley of Daingerfield. Hazel cherished her grandchildren Alan, Scott, Jake, David, Matt, Jennifer, Drew, Travis and Chelsea; and eight great- grandchildren.
She was a member of Lilley's Chapel in the Jenkins Community. Hazel lived a Christian life and touched multiple lives. She was a second mother, grandmother and beloved inspiration to many. Hazel loved and was loved!
