US Navy Rear Admiral. Glick was the Commanding Officer of the Destroyer USS Bristol DD-453 from September 22, 1942 to Oct 13, 1943. On October 13, 1943 while escorting an small convoy to Oran, Algeria the Bristol was struck by a torpedo fired by the U-371 Submarine. The destroyer broke in two and had to be abandoned, and in 15 minutes the entire vessel was sunk. Fifty one of the crew died and 241 were rescued by the destroyer USS Trippe and USS Wainwright. On August 7, 1945 Glick was assigned as Commander Transport division 110, and was aboard the USS Enright.
