Andrew grew up in Savanah, Georgia and graduated from Tulane at age 19. He spent 5 years in Germany before returning to Houston, TX. He was a brilliant chemist and an authority on vegetable oil. He developed and sold the patents for the product now known as "Pam". For many years he was Vice-President of the South Texas Cotton Seed Oil Co. (Wesson Oil). Other businesses in which he was involved were the Stonewall Corp. and The Brine Service & Chemical Co. Later he and his wife owned and operated the CASKA Nursery in Houston, TX, on the corner of Weslayan and Westheimer. They designed gardens for both commercial and residential properties."
