CLAYTON — Mrs. Olive C. Comins, 83. Clayton, R.D. 2. a teacher for 42 years, widow of Grant E. Comins, died Sunday afternoon in the Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, where she had been a patient since Aug. 13. Arrangements are with at the Cummings Funeral Home.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Horace (Ella) Donaldson, Tonawanda, and Mrs. Frances C. Diamond, Poughkeepsie; grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Born June 26, 1892, daughter of John and Ella Huckel Olmstead. She taught in local schools for
42 years until retiring in June, 1961. She was married to Grant E. Comins May 25, 1912, at the Clayton Methodist parsonage by Rev. E.E. Cheeseman. Mr. Comins, who operated a farm on the Comins Homestead, died March 16, 1970, in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, at the age of 79.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the
Cummings Funeral Home, Gayton, with Rev. Richard E. Barton of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Town of Cape Vincent.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
