Mr. Monnie was the father of the following children: Charles H., a resident of Nebraska; Frederick H; Caroline, who married James Hutchison, and died in April, 1891; Eliza, wife of Jacob Myers of Oakland; Adeline, wife of William Wolford of Donegal; Mrs. Mary Evans, of Washington county, and Alfred who served in Company H, One Hundred and Seventh PA Vols., and died in 1888 from the effect of disease contracted in the Army, leaving a wife and four children.

Charles Henry Monnie(r) and wife Henriette (Harriet) are buried in Hemphill Cemetery which is located in Donegal Township just south of the town of Chicora. They are in the same lot side by side at the extreme top of the hill overlooking the valley below. Their youngest son Alfred is also in this cemetery but lower down the hill. The second son Frederick is buried in Marion Indiana at the Veterans home Cemetery.
