GUTTENBERG, Iowa -- Alois Hubert "Al" Roth, 85, of Guttenberg, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Guttenberg. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Guttenberg. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.

He was born on July 13, 1926, in Guttenberg, son of Ben and Anna (Petsche) Roth. Al received his education from the St. Mary's Catholic School and served his country in the Army during World War II.

Al owned and operated with his twin brother Roth Brother Construction and also worked for the R.M. Wilson Construction as a heavy-equipment operator.

Al was a member of Guttenberg American Legion Post 373 and Knights of Columbus Council 4148.

He enjoyed drawing and spending time with friends.

Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Wilson, of Guttenberg; a brother, Ted (Elaine) Roth, of Guttenberg; and nephew, nieces and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Katherine Clinton; and his twin brother, Arthur.
