SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mr. Matthew Wilkins, 67, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, July 27, 2011, at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Mrs. Christine Thompson Wilkins of the home. He was the son of Mr. Melvin Anderson of Wellford, SC, and the late Mrs. Rosanna Wilkins McCreary. He was a member of the Mt. Mariah Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis (Stephen) Fowler of Spartanburg, SC; Mrs. Cathy (James) Young of Inman, SC, and Miss Carolyn Wilkins of Greenville, SC; two sons, Mr. Stanley (Regina) Wilkins of Moore, SC, and Mr. Anthony (Runisa) Wilkins of Fountain Inn, SC; three sisters, Ms. Mary Ann Browning of Spartanburg, SC; Ms. Ann Dreasa Jones of Spartanburg, SC; Miss Murriel Anderson of Brurtonsville, MD; four brothers, Mr. Melvin Anderson, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. James Anderson of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Charles McCreary Williams of Columbia, SC, and Mr. Kenny Byrd of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Courtney Fowler of Columbia, SC, Keyanna Young of Inman, SC, Michael Young of Inman, SC, and Zachariah Wilkins of Moore, SC. Two brothers preceded him in death, Mr. Samuel Wilkins and Mr. Richard McCreary.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. Pastor Dr. B.D. Snoddy will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
