Bob had two children by his first wife Kay. His son Curtis was two years older than his daughter, Christy. Curt and his father shared a love of motorcycles. In spite of donating one of his kidneys to his son, Curt passed away shortly thereafter due to organ rejection. Ironically, the rejection was caused by a motorcycle accident. Bob was survived by daughter Christy Perillo, sister Kathryn Robinson, and brothers Raymond, David and Paul White.
Early in life Bob had a serious love of the outdoors, particularly trees. He was studying to become a horticulturist, but before he could finish his studies he got caught up in the tool business and ended up spending his entire career working indoors in the tool and cutter grinding trade. White Tool Company was a well known business in Montclair, CA for over 25 years, serving all the major aircraft companies.
Shortly before his death, Bob was proud to be working on the braking system for the Discovery space shuttle that launched in 1984.
Bob was only 53 years old when he passed away. He could fix anything made of steel, but he couldn't fix his blocked arteries.
