Mrs. Sims dies on West Coast
Former county resident is stricken at age of 85.

Mrs. Margaret Herron Sims, 85, wife of the late Sherman Sims, of Columbus, died Saturday at Hanford City, Calif. She had been a patient at a hospital for the aged in Hanford and had been bedfast for several years.

She was born Oct. 11, 1871, at Hartsville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Herron. She was a graduate of Hartsville college. She married Sherman Sims May 20, 1893, and they resided in Columbus for two years. They moved to Grand Junction, Colo., in 1895 and lived there several years before moving to a farm at Rupert, Idaho. Mr. Sims died there Feb. 11, 1924.

She then went to Los Angeles where she lived until entering the hospital at Hanford. She is survived by eight children, Mrs. Lynnie Fisher of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Atkins of Hanford, Mrs. Mayme Haynes of Susanville, Calif., Mrs. Edith Shafer of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Adaline Barnhart of Whittier, Calif., Mrs. Lela White of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Marcile Williams of Los Angeles, Calif., and Harry Sims of San Luis Obispo, Calif.

She was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Harden Linke, Mrs. Stella Glick, Walter Sims, Ernest Sims and Harry Sims, and the cousin of Mrs. Ada Smiley, all of Columbus.

Funeral and burial will be in Rupert, Idaho.
