Janina (Ruszczyk) Dunleavy, 94, of North Easton, formerly of Holyoke, passed away July 28, 2011, at The Copley Skilled Nursing & Re-habilitation in Stoughton. She was the loving wife of the late John Dunleavy and beloved mother of Joanne Dunleavy and her spouse Allen Goddard, with whom she had made her home during the last few years. Her sense of humor and quick wit brought so much life to those around her. She was the devoted daughter of the late Mary (Konopka) and Adam Ruszczyk and was one of 12 children. She is survived by her sisters, Cecelia Fleury and Helen Normand, and brother Edward Ruszczyk and his wife Charlotte of Holyoke. Predeceased by her sisters Sophie Kosiba, Genevieve Haryasz, Stephanie Togneri, and Wanda Mengel and brothers John, Stanley, Chester, and Joseph Ruszczyk. She also leaves sister-in-law Olga Ruszczyk of South Hadley, brother-in-law Leonard Mengel of Wilbraham, and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral from Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, on Monday, August 1 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday, July 31 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Interment in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Memorial contributions may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368 and Jericho, P.O. Box 1039, Holyoke, MA 01041.
