Those who knew and loved Crandall will be saddened to learn of his passing on July 25, 2011 at the age of ninety-two. He resided at 4764 South Oak Terrace Drive (3270 East) in the Mount Olympus area of Millcreek Township, Utah at the time of his death.

Crandall was born April 29, 1919 in Salt Lake City to Rachel and Llewellyn Dunn. In 1941, Crandall married Eileen Mauss. She passed away in 1947. They had two daughters and a son. In 1948, he married Jean Scott. They were later divorced. They had two sons. On September 29, 1969, Crandall married Lora Brady, who passed away in 2006.

Crandall was a decorated veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater; in the Philippines, New Guinea and Japan. Crandall spent forty-five years in the automobile business. He was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodge.

Crandall's hobbies included golfing and dancing. He also had a great interest in history and geography. Cryptoquote-solving became his passion in his later years.

Crandall was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by daughters Linda (Mario) Metzger, Teri Martin, son Mark Dunn, step-children Richard (Debi) Brady, Loralynn Brady and LaRae (Bart) Bartholoma, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, sister Marian Barber, numerous nieces and nephews. Crandall was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lora, brother Lee, sister Dorothy Derby, and sons Crandall Jr. and Jeffrey.

Funeral Services will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, on Saturday, August 6, 2011, with a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by graveside services.
