Mildred Evelyn Kelly, resident of rural Grainola OK, passed away on July 13, 2011, at her home. She was 78 years of age. Mildred was born October 13, 1932, at Bowring OK, the daughter of Edmond Wood and Verna (Martin) Wood. She received her education in the Grainola Schools and was a 1952 graduate of Grainola High School. She was a proud member of the 1950 Class B State Championship Girls Basketball Team. She married C.L. Kelly in June of 1952. The couple has long been engaged in farming and ranching in the Grainola community. She was a member of the Grainola Methodist Church. Her enjoyments were fishing, farming, feeding cattle, working, hunting arrowheads and artifacts with friends, and playing sports, basketball, tennis, and card games.

Mildred is survived by her husband, C.L., of the home; daughter Shirley Kelly of Grainola; son Dave Kelly of Cedar Vale KS; sisters Hilda Miller, Mary Finnegan, and Jone Wright; brothers Bernard Wood and Lee Wood; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
